Posesión Cinefila: The Asylum: David vs Goliath

Hola frikazos. Ya he vuelto para engrosar la cifra de inmigrantes en este nuestro bello país. Antes de empezar me gustaría aclarar una cosa ya que durante mi ausencia han habido un par de comentarios tachándonos de poco serios. A ver, nosotros no somos críticos, sólo somos unos de los tantos residuos de una generación que gastaba su paga de la semana en el cine (no los de ahora, me refiero a los de verdad) o en los recreativos, esa generación que flipaba con los 8-bit de una consola y la calidad de vídeo VHS. Somos gente muy diferente en todo, por eso cuando nos juntamos terminamos hablando de lo que desde siempre hemos tenido en común: el cine y los juegos.

Hemos creado este blog sólo para hacer que esas conversaciones lleguen a más oídos y así traer más bocas con sus opiniones, independientemente de sus etnias, ideologías e inclinaciones sexuales. Así que de críticas al mas puro estilo Hollywood, nada. Lo que queremos es contar lo que pensamos, nada más, y como he admito que siempre he sido el más gamberro de este grupo de colegas, terminaré diciendo que el que quiera ser nuestro amigo, aquí tiene un lugar de reunión y a los que no les gustemos... les hago el mejor augurio que se pueda de todo corazón... que les peten!

Ok, aclarado esto os contaré como han ido mis vacaciones. Veréis, yo soy originario del Valle de Aosta. Aosta es la ciudad fronteriza que une Francia e Italia y se encuentra en el Mont Blanc, la montaña más alta de Europa. Como podréis imaginar las temperaturas son bajísimas y eso hace que después de las 22.00 ya no haya nada que hacer. Lo bueno es que los ''Spaghettini '' tienen una verdadera flota de canales de TV, de los cuales la mayor parte son temáticos, así que mis noches las pasé fumando un hachís cojonudo que me traje de aquí y viendo pelis de terror, en su mayoría, y pude darme cuenta de una cosa; ahí todas las películas de "The Asylum" se traducen, cosa que no pasa aquí o que no pasaba hasta hace poco. Seguramente se deberá a la cantidad de canales que crean mucha demanda para no tener que echar repeticiones tras repeticiones. La verdad es que ni idea, pero a mi me ha parecido estupendo. En este blog le tenemos un cariño enorme a "The Asylum" por muchas razones, pero la que realmente nos hizo enamorarnos de ellos fue una película que nos hizo exclamar a todos un gran OLE! Pero como dijo Jack el destripador, vayamos por partes.

Para los que no sepan de quien estoy hablando lo explicaré brevemente. Allá por el 1997 tres personas fundaron una productora de películas de terror de una serie B, a veces muy discutible, como muchos años antes hizo otro genio llamado Lloyd Kaufman con "Troma." (en breve Aarón G. escribirá un post sobre este personaje al que idolatra)

Bueno, estos señores empezaron produciendo películas de bajo presupuesto con sus guiones originales y algunas, a mi parecer, eran bastantes decentes, pero esto no conseguía hacerles arrancar en el mundillo hasta que en 2005 lanzaron, casi contemporáneamente a la versión de S. Spielberg, su propria versión de La guerra de los mundos. Esta película llamó la atención de Blockbuster que les hizo el pedido mas grande que recibían hasta el momento, 100.000 copias. El truco del almendruco esta en que "The asylum" nunca gasta mas de 1.000.000 para rodar una película, así que todo fueron ganancias. Desde ese momento se han dedicado a hacer copias baratas de películas caras recordándonos el estilo ''suecado '' de una de mis pelis favoritas que es Rebobine Por favor en la cual un grupo de amigos, que por hacer el imbécil, borran todas las películas del videoclub en el que trabajan y para no ser despedidos optan por grabar ellos mismos , y con sus inexistentes medios, los grandes títulos de los que ya no disponen alquilándolas como películas "suecadas."

Bueno, el caso es que desde entonces llevan golpeando por los tobillos a los gigantes de Hollywood haciendo, en algunos casos, las que a nosotros nos gusta llamar "buenas películas malas" y en otros casos verdaderos truños infumables quema corneas. Pero ahí estaban aguantando con su ''Basura vs the giant." Y el caso es que son muchas las películas con las que se han atrevido.

Faltan muchas en la lista pero os hacéis una idea no? Hace relativamente poco unos listos usaron el shooter (mokumentaris o falso documental) para crear una saga barata pero con el glamour de Hollywood, esa saga se llama Paranormal Activity. Personalmente no soy un gran fan pero en fin, en ese momento se metieron de pleno en el terreno de juego The Asylum que, con aún menos dinero, hicieron una versión más perfecta y aún más terrorífica que la saga de serie A. Es la película de la que os hablaba al principio del post, se llama Paranormal Entity, una película escalofriante gracias a la cual, a la opinión del equipo de este blog, han conseguido aplastar y destrozar al gigante aunque fuera una sola vez, así que NO debéis NO verla.
